Just a few weeks into football practice Brian Vossen took some time to talk to Lakeville Rotary Club about coaching and Lakeville North defending their Class 6A state championship.

Vossen, shared some personal history of his own on how he was that relentless kid that learned to make a change.

His tips for kids starting college:
  • Visit professors once a week
  • Schedule breaks for studying
  • Go to class
  • Sit in front
  • Tenacious

Vossen, shared the meaning of “NorthOrNorthing” which was started when he asked linebacker Mitch Johnson for his email, which was NorthOrNothing.  Which Mitch explained was North or None. This simple statement started the saying that Lakeville North’s football program and the high school in general, has used for years.

Vossen, shared that The Panthers have eight principles that players sport on the backs of shirts: legacy, tenacity, relentlessness, resilience, character, loyalty, respect and desire and each year they create t-shirts for the players with one of principles. Those are the characteristics Vossen and his coaches believe make a successful person and football player.
