AVID Program

Lakeville's Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) system is all about preparing students for college and career readiness!  Lakeville has trained many teachers in AVID instructional techniques that are being used in math, science, social studies, health and science classrooms across the district.  One component of AVID is the AVID Elective. 

The AVID elective targets students who have a strong desire to enroll in college after high school and who would like support in developing college and career-ready skills.  Students who apply and are accepted into the AVID elective are held to high academic standards and receive academic coaching to prepare students for college-level writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization and reading.
