February Rotary Students of the Month

Lauren Gunderson, Michael Baumann, Anna Harvey

Each month of the school year, the Lakeville Rotary Club recognizes students of the senior class who demonstrate “Service Above Self”.
For the month of February Lauren Gunderson has been chosen as the February Rotary Student of the Month for Lakeville North High School. Lauren’s parents are Kristine and Douglas Gunderson and her Dean is Dan McNulty.

Lauren has been chosen due to her high academics at Lakeville North High School as well as her involvement in extracurricular activities.  Lauren is the captain of the Tennis team, on the Golf team, a DECA officer, she is the school store manager and a Panther Prep Leader at Lakeville North.  Lauren also is a member of HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America), choir, a Peer Tutor, a member of National Honor Society and a member of Best Buddies.  Lauren is also in Key Club, Model United Nations, Space Club, and Super Fans.

Lauren does many volunteer hours.  She volunteers at Feed my Starving Children, Project Explore, and has done a Dominican Republic Mission Trip.  She volunteers at Special Olympics Tennis.  Lauren has worked for the Lakeville Baseball Association, at Alliant Engineering, Inc. and Kits for Kids Global Capstone Project.

Lauren maintains a high GPA of 4.35 and is currently 13 in her class of 418 while maintaining a rigorous class schedule each school year taking AP classes.

Lakeville South High School will recognize Anna Harvey as the Lakeville South High School Rotary Student of the Month for February.  Anna’s parents are Barton and Mamie Harvey and her Dean is Dr. Dana Kelly.

Anna currently has a cumulative GPA of 4.29 and ranks 7 out of a highly competitive class of 425 students.   Perhaps what speaks most strongly about Anna is her passion for STEM learning.  Currently, Anna is working on an Advanced Design & Manufacturing capstone project.  At the end of her junior year, she enthusiastically took on a very large and complex STEM capstone project for her senior year.  Anna is researching, designing, and producing employee awards and retirement plaques for the entire school district.
