March 26 Virtual Meeting

42 Rotarians joined us last week Thursday for our first virtual meeting via Zoom. Our speaker was Mayor Doug Anderson who gave an update on the City of Lakeville’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Doug encouraged members to continue to support our local businesses and to check-in with others and offer virtual support.

Mayor Anderson recognized Governor Walz, Lakeville Superintendent Michael Bauman and City Administrator Justin Miller for their continued examples of outstanding leadership during this time. In addition, he urged Rotarians that,  " Now is the time for Rotarians to be leaders in our communities."

Doug encouraged all of us to support our local government, county, state and federal officials, and our medical community during this difficult time.

Doug acknowledged Ken and Karen Wentworth, Hobo Industries, with making and donating 700 gallons of  hand sanitizers available within the community. Ken and Justin have already connected on uses for our first responders. If anyone knows of any other specific needs they should email kwentworth@hoboinc.com within the next day.

Justin Miller announced that Lakeville Liquors has reopened their Galaxie and Kenrick locations with some new policies and standards in place. The Heritage location will remain closed for a planned remodeling project through April 5.
