Each month of the school year, the Lakeville Rotary Club recognizes students of the senior class who demonstrate “Service Above Self”. 
For the month of May Patty Jo English is to be recognized as the LSHS Rotary Student of the Month.  Patty’s parents are Patty and Mike English and her Dean Shaun Murphy.
During her time at Lakeville South High School, Patty Jo has demonstrated leadership skills in many different areas. She is a leader in the classroom, athletic field, and in the courtroom.
 
Patty Jo is one of those unique students who is able to partake in many school activities and able to succeed with them all. She is the captain of our cross country and track teams. She has participated the state tournament in cross country for six years and for track the past four years. In addition, she is a leader on our state championship Mock Trial team, a member of Faith Club, National Honor Society, and Cougars Leading Cougars.
 
Above all her accomplishments, Patty Jo is an outstanding and genuine person. She always has a smile on her face and brings positive energy to everyone she encounters. Patty Jo is most deserving of being this month’s Rotary Student of the Month.
 
Lakeville North High School will recognize Elena Senftner as the Lakeville North High School Rotary Student of the Month for May.  Elena’s parents are Lynne & John Senftner and her Dean is Holly Standke.
 
At Lakeville North High School, Elena is a member of the Cross-Country Team and Track and Field.  She is a member of Mock Trial and National Honor Society.  In regard to Mock Trial, she is captain, organizing events for all members involved and integrating new members and assisting them.  Elena maintains a high GPA and class rank at Lakeville North.
 
Outside of Lakeville North, Elena is involved in the Faith Enrichment Program at her church, she leads a youth group of fifth graders.  Her work experience has been at Lunds & Bylerlys, Babysitting, Caribou Coffee as a shift leader.
