Short bio: Kelly Smith grew up in Lakeville and worked at the St. Cloud Times and Fargo Forum before joining the Star Tribune in 2010. Over the past decade, she’s covered city and county government, K-12 education, politics and statewide news, and now covers Minnesota nonprofits and philanthropy.
