OCTOBER 2017 ROTARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
 
Each month of the school year, the Lakeville Rotary Club recognizes students of the senior class who demonstrate “Service Above Self”. 
 
Sebastian Mendez , Grace and Anna Mueller
 
Lakeville South High School has chosen two students, twins, Anna and Grace Mueller, as the Lakeville South Rotary Students of the Month.  They are truly outstanding young women with extremely bright futures.  They have amazing resumes including:
-        4.40 and 4.38 GPA’s
-        Class rank 3 and 4 of 460
-        33 ACT’s both
-        12 Advance Placement courses both
-        AP Scholars with Distinction
-        Soccer participants
-        National Honor Society
-        Track and Field participants
-        Cougars Leading Cougars
-        Volunteers with youth vacation bible school and church retreats
Grace plans on pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering and Anna plans on pursuing a degree in Biology.  They are two of the nicest, hardworking, well respected students that I have known at Lakeville South High School.

For the month of October Sebastian Mendez will be recognized as the Lakeville North Rotary Student of the Month.
 
Sebastian’s parents are Jean & Gerald Mendez and his Dean is Cary Zahn.  Sebastian has been chosen because of his high GPA and he is currently ranked number 1 in his class.  Sebastian is very active at Lakeville North High School and involved in community activities.  At Lakeville North, he is an AP National Scholar, a National Honor Society member, a member of the Marching Band as rank captain, a member of Jazz Band, and a member of the La Crosse Team.  Sebastian is also the Captain of the Math League.
 
Outside Lakeville North High School, Sebastian is part of the Lakeville North Park Renovation, helping build a new playground.  Sebastian is a Boy Scout and has completed the Eagle Scout award.  He has volunteered at Feed My Starving Children, as well as serving meals at Hosanna Church.  Sebastian is also an Algebra tutor to an 8th grader.  Sebastian is an official for the youth lacrosse metro area games.
