Paul Reuvers introduced our speaker Anne Denny author of My Voice, My Choice a practical guide to writing a meaningful healthcare directive.

Anne challenged us to consider our perspective on death and dying. She stated some statistics and shared her personal story about caring for her mother, Carol, who lived with Alzheimer’s for 20 years.

The purpose of her talk was to inspire and educate us to proactively communicate with each other about our wishes and not wait until we are faced with an emergency. She also shared that we should all revisit our healthcare directives or write a healthcare directive so our loved ones can have peace of mind and avoid conflict and confusion and to support our decisions.
